Top 6 Emergency Survival Water Filters

Top 6 Emergency Survival Water Filters

Without clean water, your chance of survival decreases exponentially during an emergency or natural disaster unless you carry survival water filters. For water purification, my personal preference is to have at least two ways to filter dirty water so that I have clean water to drink during an emergency survival situation.

If you’re not sure what type of emergency water filter to buy to clean your water, then read on for a few recommendations.

6 BEST Emergency Survival Water Filters

1. Sawyer PointOne Squeeze Water Filter System

It’s easy to get clean drinking water from the 4-1/2 star rated Sawyer PointOne Squeeze Water Filter System. This has become a family favorite because it’s easy to use and has a simple design. You can filter water just about anywhere with this highly portable and lightweight filtration system – weighs only 3 ounces. If you’re looking to survive in an area that has only dirty water you can filter again and again to get clean drinking water – up to 100,000 gallons. This filtration system comes ready to go with two 32-ounce and one 16-ounce collapsible BPA-free pouch.

2. Survivor Filter PRO

When it comes to family preparedness my go-to survival water filter is the  Survivor Filter PRO. This 4-1/2 star rated filtering system filters water in 3 stages and is effective in removing 99.9% of tested viruses, bacteria, and parasites from freshwater sources. Unlike most survival filters on the market, the Survivor filter pro was independently tested by multiple labs in the USA. This is the one survival filter I recommend if you have to clean dirty water for an entire family. You can hand pump 17 ounces of water per minute into any portable hydration pack or directly into your water container of choice.

3. Platypus GravityWorks 4.0 Liter High-Capacity Water Filter System

The Platypus Gravityworks is gravity-fed, no pumping required, water filtering system that has been thoroughly tested during family camping and outdoor adventures but is suitable for emergency preparedness too. What I like most about the Gravityworks brand is that they are easier to store, transport and provide clean water faster than other pumps. Be prepared to collect water from anywhere then let the Platypus go to work to produce around 1.75 liters of water per minute. With this water filtering system, you can remove 99.9%of bacteria and protozoa.
